sunday worship gathering
At Emmaus Way, we consider kids to be very significant to the life of the Church. During our regular weekly Worship Gathering, we have activites for all ages of children, guided by our Safe Sanctuary policy. Our kids are always busy! They play, engage with Scripture, do art projects and are lead by a dedicated staff and a wonderful team of volunteers. Kids are also more than welcome in our larger worship gathering. We love hearing their voices!
BABIES & TODDLERS
Our littlest ones at Emmaus Way have their own safe space to rest and play. Staffed by our wonderful Nursery Attendant, Whitney Duncanson, and a rotating volunteer from our community, the Nursery Room has lots of fun toys and books to explore, as well as a place to rest.
Our toddlers and preschoolers have a room to themselves to play, read, & create. Each week, our teacher, Barbara Zimmerman, and a volunteer from our community craft an evening of some free play time, followed by a story (we use the Godly Play model of storytelling). Kids are then invited to respond to the story through artwork or other creative expression. Lastly, they will share a snack and finish off their evening by joining the adults in the main Worship Gathering.
Our school-aged kids are fortunate enough to spend their Sunday evenings with our wonderful teacher, Joel Musser. He excels in engaging our kids, crafting a space where they explore, ask questions, and respond to scriptural narrative and real-life issues. The kids will join the adults in the main Worship Gathering when they have finished their time together.
